Target practice
Since the NRA is one of the most powerful lobbies in the U.S., how come our shooting teams suck in the Olympics?
Are the NRA members’ shooting skills only limited to moving targets like endangered wolves and grizzlies? What is it about trying to hit a sedentary target that makes shooting so tough for our Olympic athletes?
Maybe the NRA should spend more of their membership dues on training Olympic athletes rather than fighting lead bullet bans designed to protect the California Condor. Or, in preparation for London in 2012, maybe the shooting team’s training regime should include superimposing endangered wildlife images on the practice targets.
